Description

Noksoul operates a GMP-, ISO- and HACCP-certified production base in the Hongjiang High-tech Zone of Hunan Province, specializing in Phloretin, a high-purity natural dihydrochalcone isolated from apple peel (Malus domestica) and apple root bark through controlled food-grade solvent extraction, column chromatography and recrystallization. Our production workflow isolates and standardizes phloretin, the aglycone of the well-known dihydrochalcone phlorizin, delivering consistent ≥98% HPLC material for anti-aging and skin-brightening cosmetic formulators, antioxidant / anti-glycation nutraceutical developers and skin-care active customers worldwide.

Why Choose Noksoul Phloretin

  • Natural Dihydrochalcone Aglycone.  Phloretin (CAS 60-82-2) is a well-characterized apple-derived dihydrochalcone with documented antioxidant, tyrosinase-inhibiting, anti-glycation and glucose-transporter-modulating activity. Sourced from apple peel, it is delivered as a single standardized ≥98% active ingredient, simplifying dose design and label-claim compliance.
  • Controlled Purification Preserving Dihydrochalcone Activity.  Manufacturing applies optimized food-grade solvent extraction, chromatographic separation and recrystallization under controlled conditions, preserving the dihydrochalcone structure while removing co-extracted sugars, pectin and unrelated impurities.
  • HPLC-Driven Batch-to-Batch Standardization.  Every production lot is quantified by HPLC for phloretin purity (≥98%), alongside profiling of related dihydrochalcone impurities such as phlorizin. Multi-analyte documentation gives formulators full traceability to support regulatory filing and label claims.
  • Controlled Impurity and Residual Management.  Our quality system monitors potential cross-contact plant allergens. Each batch is tested for residual solvents in compliance with ICH Q3C guidelines, minimizing processing-related contaminants in the final crystalline powder.
  • Heavy-Metal and Microbiological Compliance.  Each lot undergoes ICP-MS heavy-metal screening, full microbiological panel testing and critical safety parameter verification before commercial release, in line with our established ISO / GMP / HACCP quality system.
  • Complete Export Documentation.  COA, MSDS, impurity profile certificate, heavy-metal test report and batch-traceability records accompany every shipment. With over two decades of industry expertise, our materials serve customers across Europe, the Americas, Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea.

What Is Phloretin

Botanical Source and Biological Composition

Phloretin (CAS 60-82-2, C15H14O5, MW 274.27 g/mol) is a naturally occurring dihydrochalcone accumulated in apple peel (Malus domestica) and apple root bark. It is the aglycone of phlorizin, the better-known apple dihydrochalcone glycoside. As a bioactive polyphenol, phloretin exhibits potent free-radical-scavenging antioxidant activity, documented tyrosinase-inhibiting and skin-brightening activity, anti-glycation effects, and glucose-transporter-modulating (SGLT / GLUT) activity. These multi-mode properties underpin its broad use in anti-aging and brightening skincare, antioxidant and anti-glycation nutraceuticals, as well as in skin-research formulations.

Standardized Phloretin vs. Crude Apple Peel Powder

Crude apple peel powder contains phloretin mainly in its glycoside form (phlorizin), alongside pectin, fibre, chlorogenic acid and other polyphenols; free phloretin content varies with apple variety, maturity and origin. Standardized phloretin produced via extraction, chromatography and recrystallization is highly enriched to ≥98% by HPLC, enabling precise dose control and reliable batch-to-batch reproducibility for finished cosmetic and supplement products.

Production Process

Incoming apple peel / root bark raw material is inspected for botanical identity, initial dihydrochalcone content, heavy-metal levels and microbiological status prior to manufacturing.

  • Raw-Material Pretreatment — Dried apple peel / root bark is cleaned, crushed and screened to remove foreign plant fragments and physical contaminants; botanical identity is confirmed before extraction.
  • Food-Grade Solvent Extraction — Pretreated material undergoes circulating food-grade solvent extraction under controlled moderate temperature to solubilize dihydrochalcone components, maximizing phloretin yield while limiting co-extraction of pectin and pigments.
  • Concentration and Crude Enrichment — The extraction liquor is vacuum-concentrated at low temperature to recover solvent and obtain an enriched crude dihydrochalcone fraction.
  • Column Chromatography Purification — Crude concentrate is loaded onto chromatographic resin for selective adsorption and elution, separating phloretin from phlorizin, other co-extracted polyphenols and plant-derived impurities.
  • Recrystallization for Final Standardization — Chromatography-purified phloretin solution is subjected to controlled recrystallization to achieve the target ≥98% HPLC purity; crystalline solids are isolated by filtration.
  • Quality Release and Packaging — Dried powder is assayed for phloretin content by HPLC, residual solvents, related-substance profile, heavy metals, moisture and microbiological safety. Qualified material is packed into double-layer PE inner bags with desiccants, then sealed within light-proof, moisture-barrier fibre drums.

Functional Properties & Benefits

  • Skin-Brightening and Tyrosinase Inhibition.  Phloretin is widely used in brightening and anti-spot skincare formulations, supporting an even, translucent complexion through tyrosinase-modulating activity.
  • Antioxidant and Anti-Aging Activity.  Potent free-radical-scavenging antioxidant properties support cellular defence against oxidative stress and environmental skin ageing.
  • Anti-Glycation and Collagen Support.  Documented anti-glycation activity supports skin-collagen protection and anti-aging positioning.
  • UV Defence and Environmental Protection.  Phloretin is commonly incorporated into antioxidant day-creams and serums for UV-triggered oxidative-stress defence.
  • Glucose-Metabolism Research.  SGLT / GLUT transporter-modulating activity supports phloretin's use in metabolic-health research and antioxidant nutraceutical blends.

Applications

  • Anti-Aging and Brightening Skincare.  High-purity phloretin serves as an active raw material for antioxidant serums, brightening essences, day creams and anti-spot skincare formulations.
